A Day at LA Piscina…..

We came home to these beautiful flowers in our room last night.  We still don’t know where they came from, but we are loving them!!!

IMG_9472 Since the kids missed out on the pool two days in a row….we decided to make the whole day…Pool Day.

Diego and Yerly were anxious to bring the squirt guns down to the pool.  They had a blast playing with those. The pool was packed today because it was a national holiday. I came to the conclusion that  I , for one, am not a fan of Colombian swimsuits.  I saw more rear ends than I cared to see today.  AND Plastic surgery seems to be very popular here and the women are very ~disproportioned on the top and bottom. Very odd.

Ella found a new friend, a teenage Colombian boy with Downs Syndrome.  They played ball and squirt guns for a long time.  Very sweet.  Dayne and Mike and Diego wrestled in the pool, tackled in the pool, rode the 2 person dadhorse in the pool and played football in the pool.  Olivia and Gretta loved just sitting in the sun.  Ella and I swam laps…(yes! I so miss that) Yerly and I had races across the kiddie pool and when Diego saw that…he had to join to.  They would yell Campionia….every time, proclaiming they were the Champion.  There so many cute little phrases they use and their little spanish accent is different from Mexico…it almost has an italian flare. Just adorable.  The fav words of the day…  “Aye, K No” ( just a no with drama)  It has been fun to try to figure out what Diego is saying.  He doesn’t pronounce some syllables.  Thank goodness for Yerly our little translator.

Mike and Dayne and Diego wrestled on the bed again.  Diego is soooo tough,  soooo fearless and unusually compact…. Makes for a little fireball.   He is  also quite accomplished at mimicking Dayne.  OHHH, the joys of a little brother that Dayne is now experiencing!

IMG_9536 We made pasta in our room for dinner.  Diego ate really well tonight!  Yerly didn’t want to…but did try it.  We went down to the restaurant for ice cream for a treat tonight.

IMG_9544 After we got home from Ice Cream, Yerly paraded around in her new glitter pants. Dancing and shaking and showing off her new”Pinky” as she calls it nailpolish.  She fell asleep again with her arms around my neck kissing my face. Life is Good.
